Protocols for re-opening

The Board of Wawota United Church has developed these protocols to ensure the safety of our congregants as we meet during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Communication

- members will receive notification of these protocols by email. Also available on the church website and Facebook, as well as signs in the building.

Cleaning & disinfecting

- regular cleaning by our custodian of sanctuary, church hall and restrooms with extra sanitizing of high touch areas (door knobs & handles, light switches, tables, pews and chairs) after each worship service or event.

- hand sanitizers available at all entrance and exit doors.

Social distancing

- directional flow in building from main entrance to seating to exit doors supervised by usher.

- pew and chair seating maintaining 6’ between family groups.

- mask use at personal discretion. Attendee must supply mask.

Maximum numbers

- 1/3 capacity of each part of building: in the sanctuary, 30 people; in the church hall, 40 people.

Attendance

- name and phone number of each person attending worship or other function will be recorded by greeter.

Worship & fellowship

- no singing.

- no offering plate passed. Leave donation in container at entrance or exit.

- no food or beverage service.

Protocols for re-opening

The Board of St. Andrews United Church, Maryfield has developed these protocols to ensure the safety of our congregants as we meet during the COVID-19 pandemic:

Communication

- members will receive notification of these protocols by email or regular letter. Also available on the church website and Facebook.

Cleaning & disinfecting

- regular cleaning of sanctuary, restrooms and church hall.

- extra sanitizing of high touch areas (door knobs and handles, pews and chairs, light switches, tables, equipment, washroom fixtures) after each worship service.

Social distancing

- directional flow from entrance to seating to exit doors.

- spaced seating between groups; every 2nd pew used; ribbons mark seating areas.

Maximum numbers

- 1/3 capacity of each part of building: sanctuary, 30; narthex, 20; basement, 50

Personal Protection

- hand sanitizers available at all entrance and exit doors.

- masks not mandatory, but if desired, attendee must supply.

Attendance

- name and phone number of each person attending worship or other function recorded by greeter.

Worship

- singing allowed only if wearing a mask.

- offering placed in container at entrance.

- separate microphones for each speaker.

- communion by distribution.
